Location

A serene setting.

Take the South Eastern main line from London Bridge and, after 20 minutes, alight at Chislehurst. You might imagine you’d travelled for two hours, not the brief journey you have made. Gone is the hustle and bustle of the City, replaced by lush green commons, peaceful woodland and numerous charming ponds.

Astonishingly, Chislehurst is in Zone 5 of the Transport for London network and just seven miles away from the M25. Combine such fantastic transport links with Chislehurst’s rural beauty and it’s
easy to see why this charming village has become one of the South East’s most desirable locations.

There’s plenty of history in the area, too. Chislehurst Caves is a series of tunnels that stretches for 22 miles underneath the village. Chislehurst Golf Club’s magnificent club house is Camden Place, previously home to Napoleon III, Empress Eugenie and their son, the Prince Imperial. The village sign shows Thomas Walsingham, the wealthy owner of the Scadbury Estate in Chislehurst, being knighted by Queen Elizabeth I.

  • Chislehurst has a wide range of amenities, from the specialist boutiques that line the Royal Parade to national stores such as Sainsbury’s on the High Street. Chislehurst Golf Club, Bromley Tennis Centre and an Esporta Health Club provide plenty for
    the more active.
  • Food and drink lovers will enjoy sampling the abundance of great pubs dotted throughout Chislehurst, while those with an international palate will be satisfied by the choice of Spanish,
  • Thai, Chinese, Indian, Italian and Greek restaurants in the village.
  • There are several excellent local schools. Chislehurst Primary School achieves a 100% pass rate in English and Science; and at GSCE level at least 92% of pupils at all schools in the area achieve A to C grades.
  • There are four railway stations within a couple of miles of central Chislehurst, and Chislehurst Station is only a three minute walk away - the onward journey to London Bridge takes approximately 25 minutes.
